Working in Edinburgh

Moon Collider is offering full-time roles based in Edinburgh, Scotland, a beautiful city delivering true quality of life.

Calton Hill, Edinburgh

Edinburgh’s a relaxed and friendly place, but it’s got all the facilities of a thriving capital city. Whether it’s shopping, entertainment, education or socializing, you’ll never be short of options within easy reach. And alongside those modern conveniences, we have a thousand years of history around us – making Edinburgh a fascinating place to live, and a popular destination for friends to visit.

Orchestral musiciansIt’s a compact city, that’s simple to get around. Our offices are ten minutes’ walk from the heart of the Old Town, and there are affordable places to live within walking distance, too. Public transport’s cheap and convenient, though plenty of people get around by bike instead. If you’d rather live out of the city, there are attractive small towns a half-hour’s drive away.

Edinburgh’s a green and pleasant place. Our office is a stone’s throw from The Meadows – a grassy park the size of 20 football pitches – and if you’re feeling more energetic, you can take a break at lunchtime to climb Arthur’s Seat, our unique inner-city “mountain”.

For culture vultures, we have five major theatres and three sprawling art galleries – and every August, we’re home to the planet’s largest theatre and comedy festival, the Edinburgh Fringe. If you’re more the sporting type, there’s an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a world-class sports centre, a plethora of golf courses and even an ice rink.

Woman running on Arthur's SeatIf you enjoy the outdoor life, you’ll find Edinburgh an ideal base. An hour’s drive from the city centre will take you to beaches, hills or forests, while a couple of hours will get you to the Highlands, where hundreds of challenging hill-walks lie within easy day-trip reach. When you have a weekend to spare, the unspoiled beauty of the remote West Coast is the ideal stress-busting getaway.

And finally, don't worry – though moving to Edinburgh may seem a big step, you’ll find it’s easy to keep in touch with friends. Flights to London leave regularly throughout the day, alongside direct services to many UK regional and European cities. If you come from further afield, there are easy connections to the rest of the world through Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Or if you prefer not to fly, the fast, efficient East Coast rail line offers a more relaxed way into London.
